‘SPRINGWATCH TAMAR’ RIVER CRUISE

Sunday 11 April 2010

Sailing from Plymouth Mayflower Steps at 12.30pm and Saltash Town Quay at I.15pm.

Cost: Adults £12.00, Children [minimum 6 years old] £7.00

We have teamed up with the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty as part of their Spring Festival, for a whole afternoon cruise up the Rivers Lynher and Tamar and hopefully for the first time, the River Tavy.

Although the winter waders and wildfowl will have left for their breeding grounds to the north we hope to see some passage migrant birds and some of the first summer visitors.

Sailing on a higher tide than normal we will be able to explore some of the higher reaches of the river, not normally accessible on the winter sailings. As usual, Bruce will provide a commentary but this time we will also look at the landscape history of the area.

The ‘Plymouth Sound’ has a spacious open upper deck and enclosed lower deck with large picture windows enabling excellent views of the river. There is a bar and light refreshments will be available.

The 41/2 hour cruise will return to Saltash at 5.30pm and Plymouth at 6.15pm.

There is likely to be a high demand for places on this one off cruise so early booking is advised. Download a booking form from the Bird Watching Cruises page [above the banner photos] and send it with a cheque, payable to Tamar Wildlife and SAE please to

Hi Tom, The booking form is on the bird cruise page not on the blog. Click on the page menu above the banner pictures and you will find a link to the booking form. Many thanks.
